JOB INFORMATION

Position: Retail Security Guard
Pay: $18.00 – $26.00 per hour, depending on assignment and employer

Schedule: Day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be available, with schedules based on store hours and operational needs

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor store entrances, exits, sales-floor areas, and other designated locations.
• Help protect customers, employees, merchandise, and store property.
• Observe customer and store activity for potential safety or security concerns.
• Assist with loss-prevention procedures and report suspected theft or suspicious activity according to company policy.
• Monitor security cameras and alarm systems when assigned.
• Conduct regular patrols of assigned store areas.
• Respond appropriately to safety incidents, disturbances, and emergencies.
• Maintain accurate daily activity and incident reports.
• Provide professional assistance and directions to customers and store employees when appropriate.
• Follow store security procedures and emergency protocols.
• Maintain a professional and respectful presence throughout the store.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent may be required depending on the employer and assignment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain any required California security guard registration or licensing.
• Strong observation and communication skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to remain alert and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Professional and respectful attitude toward customers, employees, and coworkers.
• Basic English communication skills required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established security procedures.
