We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to support the kitchen team at a restaurant or food service operation in Phoenix, AZ. This position will assist with basic food preparation, cleaning, stocking, and other daily kitchen tasks to help keep operations running smoothly.
The ideal candidate is reliable, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is helpful but not required, as training may be provided.
JOB INFORMATION
Position: Kitchen Helper
Pay: $16.50 – $20.00 per hour, depending on experience and location

Schedule: Flexible shifts available, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist cooks and other kitchen staff with daily food preparation.
- Wash, peel, cut, and prepare basic ingredients according to instructions.
- Set up ingredients and supplies needed for meal preparation.
- Assist with portioning and organizing food items.
- Keep food preparation areas clean and organized.
- Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils, cookware, and work surfaces.
- Assist with loading and unloading kitchen supplies.
- Receive, organize, and store food and kitchen supplies as directed.
- Monitor basic inventory levels and notify supervisors when supplies are running low.
- Remove trash and recycling from designated kitchen areas.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors and assist with general cleaning duties.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties.
- Support cooks and other team members during busy service periods.
REQUIREMENTS
- No college degree or formal culinary education required.
- Previous kitchen, restaurant, food service, or cleaning experience is a plus but not required.
- Willingness to learn basic kitchen procedures and food preparation.
- Ability to follow instructions and established food safety procedures.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry food supplies and kitchen equipment as required.
- Comfortable working around heat, water, cleaning products, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic English communication skills preferred.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
