We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher to join a restaurant or food service team in Chicago, IL. This position will be responsible for keeping dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment clean and sanitized while supporting the kitchen team during daily operations.
The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and willing to work as part of a team. Previous restaurant experience is helpful but not required, as training may be provided.
JOB INFORMATION

Pay: $16.50 – $20.00 per hour, depending on experience and location

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment according to established procedures.
- Scrape and rinse dishes before placing them in the dishwasher.
- Hand-wash cookware and other items when necessary.
- Return clean dishes and kitchen equipment to their designated areas.
- Keep the dishwashing station clean and organized throughout the shift.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning and preparation tasks.
- Remove trash and recycling from designated kitchen areas.
- Sweep and mop kitchen and service areas as needed.
- Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning materials.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen cleaning duties.
- Communicate with kitchen staff when additional cleaning or supplies are needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- No college degree or formal culinary education required.
- Previous restaurant, kitchen, cleaning, or food service experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry kitchen items and supplies as required.
- Comfortable working around water, heat, cleaning products, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow sanitation and safety procedures.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Basic English communication skills preferred.
